SHAH MAHMOOD QURESHI OF PTI said that the first meeting of the government and Taliban dialogue committee is a positive step. He said that the government and Taliban committees have decided to have talks within the framework of the constitution and it is a right move. He said that it is pleasing that the first meeting of the government and Taliban committees has been facilitated by the KPK government. He said that not just FATA but the peace needs to be restored in the whole of the country.
He said that the fact is that political based recruitments have been made in Karachi police. He said that the weapons are abundant in Karachi and it is very dangerous.
He said that PTI is always in the favor of dialogues for the sake of peace. He said that people in the favor of operation against Taliban forget that there are some consequences of action.
MUFTI KIFAYAT ULLAH OF JUI (F) said that JUI wants peace in the country regardless of who helps to facilitate it. He said that he considers Molana Fazal U Rehman his Ameer and on his will he did not join the dialogue committee. He said that in his opinion both the government and Taliban will like to come out of the war. He said that all the steps taken so far reflect that there is candidness on either side for peace.
MANZOOR WASAN OF PPPP said that he predicts that there will be an action in London and reaction in Karachi in February or March this year. He said that the reaction in Karachi will be very severe in the beginning but the military will overcome on it.
He said that one section of Taliban is holding dialogues but there are other groups also and they can keep on terrorism. He said that sectarian violence is also present in Karachi besides Taliban. He said that there are 110 police stations in Karachi but 32 are more troublesome.
PROFESSOR IBRAHIM OF JI said that his committee will make utmost effort to meet Taliban in Wazirastan soon. He said that no point of view of Taliban will be accepted unless it is said directly by them. He said that he talked to Taliban representative Qari Shakeel but no important thing can be discussed on the telephone. He said that the media will be informed only the things that will be decided no other information will be released. He said that they have requested Taliban to not to take any action that could derail the dialogue process.
RAHIM ULLAH YOUSUFZAI MEMBER NEGOTIATIONS COMMITTEE said that the government and Taliban committee have decided to stop the terrorist attacks for the sake of the dialogues. He said that we have tried to talk with Taliban about the problems of FATA and Malakand within the framework of constitution. He said that Taliban committee will now meet with their Shura to know their point of view.
